The Case for HDI

Most Digital Wellbeing Programs Measure Nothing.

They cost something. They change nothing. They leave HR with no data, no proof, and no second conversation with the board. HDI is built differently — from the first measurement to the last.

The Alternatives

The Problem with Everything Else

Every year, organizations spend on digital wellbeing initiatives. Most leave no trace — no data, no change, no ROI.

The Popular Choice

Screen Time Trackers

Your phone tells you how many hours. It does not tell you why you can't stop, what it costs you, or what to do about it. Counting is not measuring.

The One-Day Fix

Motivational Speakers

No baseline. No follow-up. No proof. A keynote about digital balance lands differently when your team is back at their desks in an hour, notifications on.

The HR Checkbox

Generic Wellness Programs

Wellness as a checkbox. One session, one certificate, no behaviour change. The industry term is "wellness theatre" — and most HR teams know it when they see it.

The HDI Method

The HDI Difference: A Closed Loop

Four steps. One instrument. A measurable outcome your board can read.

1

Measure

HDI assessment per participant — 7.5 to 120 minutes depending on depth. A validated baseline established across 6 dimensions of digitality.

2

Understand

Individual and team reports delivered. Exact dimensions where your team loses attention, resilience, and performance — named and ranked.

3

Act

Structured workshop program directly mapped to your weakest dimensions. Not generic — your data drives the content. Every session is built around your team's results.

4

Re-measure

Same instrument, 60–90 days later. Score change is your ROI. A concrete before-and-after to show the people who approved the budget.

"This is the only digital wellbeing program where you can show the board a before and after."

The Real Cost

The Cost of Doing Nothing

Employees spend an average of 2.5 hours per day on digital distractions at work. For a team of 20, that is 50 hours of lost productivity every week — equivalent to more than one full-time employee doing nothing. (Based on RescueTime and Udemy Workplace Distraction research)

Digital fatigue is the top cause of voluntary turnover in knowledge work roles. When employees feel constantly overwhelmed by digital demands, they do not raise it with HR — they leave. (Gartner, 2023)

Employees who report high digital resilience are 31% more likely to report high work engagement. Resilience is not a personality trait — it is a measurable skill. The HDI instrument quantifies it, and the education program develops it. (HDI pilot cohorts and general research on resilience and engagement)

An HDI Growth program for 50 people costs €2,500. One month of recovered focus for a team of 20 pays for it.

Zero IT Overhead

How Implementation Works

Most corporate programs require scheduling coordination, IT setup, and weeks of pre-work. HDI is designed so the only thing HR needs to do is send a link.

Total time required from HR: approximately 3 hours of coordination.

Week 1 — Setup

Onboarding

We send participant links. 10 minutes to onboard. No IT integration, no software installation, no scheduling required.

W2

Week 2 — Assessment

Each Participant Takes the HDI Test

Asynchronous, on their own schedule. No disruption to workflow. Completion typically reaches 90%+ when participants receive the individual report benefit.

W3

Week 3 — Workshop

Half-Day or Full-Day Session

On-site or remote. Content is built directly from your team's weakest HDI dimensions — not a generic deck adapted to your logo.

W4

Week 4 — Reports

Individual and Team Reports Delivered

Each participant receives their individual report. HR receives the aggregated team report and action plan — ready for the board conversation.

90d

60–90 Days Later — Re-assessment

Measure the Change

Optional but recommended. The same instrument, the same participants. Score delta is your proof of ROI — in numbers HR can show any stakeholder.

Trust & Compliance

Your Data is Protected

Before any HR team signs off on a wellbeing program, someone asks about data. Here is every answer.

GDPR Compliant

All data is processed under EU GDPR. HDI.Vision is based in Zagreb, Croatia — an EU member state. Data never leaves EU infrastructure.

Individual Privacy

Participant results are never shared with the employer without consent. HR receives only aggregated, anonymised team data. Individual scores stay with the individual.

No Third-Party Sharing

Assessment data is never sold or shared with third parties. It is used only for reporting and re-assessment comparison — nothing else.

Grounded in Doctoral Research

HDI is built on original PhD-level research by Tomislav Krištof, defended before a committee of two professors at the University of Rijeka. The research used the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) and a Structural Equation Model to demonstrate — with statistical significance — that social media addiction predicts a significantly lower ability to cope with workplace interruptions (β > 0.5, p < 0.01). This is not a borrowed framework. The theoretical and empirical foundation is original.

Low Risk. Real Results.

Run a Pilot. See the Data. Decide.

A pilot program is how every long-term HDI partnership starts. We set up assessment access for 10–15 people, deliver a team report, and run one workshop session. You see real results from your own team before committing to a full program.

What's included in the pilot:

  • HDI assessment access for up to 15 participants
  • Team aggregate report with dimension breakdown
  • One workshop session (half day, on-site or remote)
  • Pilot price: €500 — applies toward any full program if you continue
